Atherstone has a rich history with the monarchy and the Church of England. From the reign of King Henry VIII, when the Church of England was established, to the present day, the monarchy and the Church have played a significant role in shaping the town's identity and values.
Easter is a season of renewal and hope in the Church of England faith. It marks the story of Jesus' death and resurrection, a pivotal moment in the Christian narrative that has shaped our beliefs and practices for centuries. At its core, Easter is a celebration of faith, sacrifice, and forgiveness, and it holds valuable lessons that are still relevant in modern life. The story of Easter begins with Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem, where he was hailed as a king by the crowds. However, his message of love and compassion was seen as a threat by the authorities, who arrested him, tried him, and sentenced him to death by crucifixion. Despite this, Jesus remained faithful to his mission, even in the face of betrayal, denial, and pain.
